Welcome to Batavia Energy Corp.
Batavia Energy is a public Ontario company engaged since 2006 in the exploration and development of natural gas projects
Indonesian Coal Bed Methane
Originally focused on Coal Bed Methane in Indonesia, Batavia Energy has been a leader in that new Indonesian energy sector. In May of 2008, Batavia Energy received a net 31.5% working interest in the first CBM Production Sharing Contract ever granted in Indonesia.
And then in the fall of 2009 - along with its partners PT Medco, PT Ephindo, and CBM Asia Development Corp. – spudded the first ever commercial CBM well in Indonesia. Core samples have been analyzed and the critical data points obtained, which point towards a highly successful project.
A multi well exploration program for 2010 has been submitted to and approved by the upstream regulator BP Migas. The second well, CBM-SE-01, will be spudded in the first half of 2010.
Alberta Shallow Gas
In December of 2009 Batavia Energy entered into a farm in relationship with USG Energy Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Imperial Venture Corp., related to the exploration and development of shallow gas in Alberta.
Batavia will earn a 50% interest in the project by financing a proof of concept phase and early well tie ins.
The 2010 exploration program includes a geophysical survey, geochemical work, and exploration wells on 2 ½ townships of land in Southeastern Alberta.
